Marshall M. Sloane Founder & Chairman 1926 - 2019

Marshall M Sloane

Marshall Sloane was much more than the visionary architect of Century Bank. He was our Dad. As we mourn his passing, we celebrate the close and loving relationship he had with his family. He taught us the value of working hard, doing the right thing, and serving the community. He always wanted the bank he founded to live long beyond his generation — and he insisted we do it in a way he would be proud of. Dad’s wisdom, compassion, generosity and kindness will be remembered by his family, the thousands of employees who worked at Century over the past 50 years, and the countless people whose lives he touched over his long and extraordinary life.

April 8 - Dr Catherine Powers Ozyurt
My condolences to the Sloane family on this tremendous loss. I have been a customer for nearly 30 years-since i started my first full-time job right out of college. I admire Marshall Sloane's commitment to keeping Century Bank a regional bank. Over the years, I have see many banks come and go. At one point my now husband went through 3 different sets of checks in a one year period because his bank kept getting acquired by other banks. Of course this never happened with Century Bank under Marshall Sloane's tenure. So, when we got married, Century Bank came with me as part of the package deal! As with the generations of Sloane's who are involved with Century Bank, we are in our second generation with century. Our college student daughter has her own Century checking account.
