Overdraft Bounce Protection For Your Checking Account

What is Overdraft Bounce Protection?

An overdraft occurs when you do not have sufficient funds in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:

  1. We have standard overdraft Bounce Protection practices that come with your account.
  2. We also offer an overdraft line of credit protection plan, which is subject to credit approval and may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices. To learn more, ask us about this plan.
This brochure explains our standard overdraft Bounce Protection practices.

What are the standard overdraft Bounce Protection practices that come with my account?

We authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

  • Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
  • Automatic bill payments
  • Internet banking including online bill payments
  • Transfer requests made via ACCOUNTLINE
Century Bank does not pay personal ATM as well as everyday debit card transactions that may overdraw your account unless you tell us.

Simply provide us with authorization to pay these transactions in advance via the convenient "YES" button online, or at any of our branch locations or call our customer service center at (866) 823-6887.

What fees will I be charged if Century Bank pays my overdraft?

This service is free unless you use it. We will charge you a fee of up to $5 if you have an 18/65 account and $36 for all other accounts each time we pay an overdraft request. There is a limit of 8 fees in total per day we can charge you for overdrawing your account.

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined or your check returned unpaid.
